4/1/2008 SO...A YEAR HAS PASSED... A year of refining our product, learning our market, and perfecting our trade. REFINEMENT - the script is now sitting pretty in a sixth draft. For the first time, I feel like I can really begin pre-production - as in...storyboards, shot lists, scheduling, etc. - the older drafts just weren't there yet. Finally, I know that any further changes will primarily be cosmetic and will not impact the overall storyline. It's a good feeling. THE MARKET - we have been pretty thorough with our research on how to approach fundraising. Old ideas had to be re-thought based on new research and we've brought on some people that have really helped us through this process. One is our new associate producer, Dr. Michael Meinzen, who, among other ventures, owns India's Rasoi in the Central West End. The other is our new producer, Rahm Narayan, a recent graduate of Washington University's law program. We are ecstatic to have both on board and feel more confident than ever at this point in the production. PERFECTION - all of us have another year of experience under our belts. I worked on eight feature films and a number of smaller productions - and that's just me! We even squeezed in a project of our own - a music video for The Rats And People - the band who will be, eventually, providing the score for Barburyou. Check out Sorry To Miss The Affair at the Rock N Roll Bacteria website. All this experience is not going to waste and will definitely help Barburyou be one of the best movies to come out of St. Louis, and, perhaps, the world. I appreciate you all for reading - big things are happening - believe it!
3/5/2007BENEFIT SHOW ON MARCH 30TH, 2007 An all-star lineup of local St. Louis acts are putting their talents towards fundraising for the new feature-length project from Rock N Roll Bacteria Productions. The Blazin' Barbarian Burlesque Benefit Ball takes place on Friday, March 30th at the Duck Room inside Blueberry Hill and features performances from Jesse Irwin, SHed SHot, Gentleman Auction House, and the Bombshell Betties. Barburyou is the latest effort from award-winning writer/director Aaron Crozier (Grumboon, Liontown), producer Oscar Madrid (Hooch & Daddy-O), and cinematographer Ryan Samul (Steel City, New York City Serenade). It is a fantastical tale of three barbarians attempting to discover the dark secret of the unicorns and the adventures they have along the way. The project is in the pre-production phase, tentatively scheduled to begin filming next fall, in and around the St. Louis area. Crozier and Madrid will be in attendance to answer any questions regarding the project. Blueberry Hill is located at 6504 Delmar Blvd. This is a 21-and-older show. Admission is $7.00 per person and doors open at 8:00 p.m. 2/7/2007 BARBURYOU NEWS Ladies and gentlemen, let this be the first of what I hope will be a series of monthly or bi-monthly updates revolving around our newest production - Barburyou. That's Barburyou - a combination of "barbarian" and "bury you". This is going to be Rock N Roll Bacteria Productions first feature length movie and we couldn't be more pumped. The script has been in the works for the past two years and we are now in the fundraising stage so we can put these talented St. Louis film folks to work. And I'm talking about folks like Patrick Voss. Robin Garrels. And Ryan Samul (even though he traded us for New York City). And, of course, the Rock N Roll Bacteria team - Anthony Sawall, Matt Sinopole, and Suzanne Stockhausen. If you need more information on our crew - check them out above. As I mentioned above, right now we're smack dab in the middle of raising funds to get this project off the ground. We're extremely excited to be working with our producer, Oscar Madrid, whom you may have heard of from his last feature project, Hooch & Daddy-O. We've formed an LLC, put together a business plan, and we've been building a network of partners, trying to reach out to people who would be interested in helping our project get off the ground. We're always looking to expand our network, so, if you know anyone who might fit the bill (or if you know anyone who'd know anyone who'd know anyone, etc...), please let us know. We'd be glad to send out a brochure of information about the project and its earning potential. These brochures will also be available at the Blazin' Barbarian Burlesque Benefit Ball - a benefit concert we're throwing at the Duck Room in Blueberry Hill on March 30th. We'll send out an official press release, but we wanted to give you all the early heads-up. We've got some excellent local performers lined up - Jesse Irwin, SHed SHot, Gentleman Auction House, and we're ending the night with a burlesque show performed by the lovely ladies from the Bombshell Betties. We're also working on a special, surprise guest that I don't want to mention until they're confirmed but this will no doubt be the single greatest moment of your life. If you have doubts, all the bands involved have music up on their respective MySpace pages so feel free to listen and feel free to realize how much this show is going to rock. All in all, we've had a busy couple of months, but, here at Rock N Roll Bacteria, we love to get busy, and we're only going to get busier until the movie is made, so please spread the word, and drop us a line.
8/15/2006 BENEFIT SHOW ON SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2006 Local bands will come together on Saturday, September 2nd, at The Way Out Club to benefit Barburyou, the new feature-length project from Rock N Roll Bacteria Productions. The Way Out Club is located at the intersection of Gravois and South Jefferson. This is a 21-and-older show.
